Remember chintz?
It's out of the closet and onto the bed.

I call this type of quilting rescue quilting.
The client had basted this top for hand quilting and left it sitting for 30 years.
I took it apart and quilted it using a cozy poly batt. The puffy batt gives it loft and a contemporary look.
The back is an inexpensive muslin but, gives it a pretty whole cloth look.
As simple as this quilt is, it's one of my favorites of the year.

The colors are beautiful and I love the sheen of the chintz... but your quilting give it the final zing that makes it all pop and say WOW!

I bet your client is thrilled because that quilt looks very current and modern to me!
oh WOW that is beautiful _ really do like the way you have quilted it.
I personally love chintz and wish it was still available. I am using some very old mauve chintz right now for stabilizing CQ blocks. The color is horrible but the shine is great-I hate to cover the shine.
You've done a super job--well past "just a rescue"! I bet the client was flabbergasted!
