Below is my simple solution to house my new listening device while stitching.

I can hook it right to my scissors lanyard and that way I don't have to wear two things around my neck.

When I need the scissors the chain slides right through the clasp of the case and then back down again.

The case is made from pink leather.The front is painted and stitched while the back is only stitched.

Stitching the leather was not as hard as I thought, although, there was some needle drag. 

 This is my new case for my phone when I'm on the go. I love the vintage glass button.

A new sunglasses case because I'm hopeful spring will eventually arrive....

An eyeglass case is below. 

I really liked making this out of wool felt I had used as a waste cloth on a previous project.  I used Misty Fuse, threads and a painted dryer sheet over the top with flowers cut from silk fusion.  The dryer sheet, I don't think, will hold up over time, but I liked experimenting with this idea for future wall art pieces.

Below is my favorite case which I'll use for my mini sketchbook for the sketchbook challenge.

I'll talk about that another time.

seed pods

Today is the Fiberactions group quilt reveal. 

The challenge word this month was transformation.

Seed Pods

Inspired by the seed pods left behind when flowers die off.

The fabric is hand made silk fusion.

This is the first in a series of seed pod quilts I'm planning.

inspired by blue

-More silk paper made this past weekend.

The shades of blue were so inspiring that I made blue beads while the silk was drying in the sun.

Then, I strung them together and

and made a bracelet.

 

I'm working out some details with my beads and intend on adding them to a quilt.

silk fusion

I asked SueB to host a workshop on Silk Fusion. 

Last week, Sue, Kathleen and I were able to meet for Sue's workshop.

Hard to believe this wad of color can be turned into beautiful silk paper.

It was a nice day so we met outside and here SueB is showing us the process.

We hung our pieces to dry on a drying rack like this and also the clothesline.

(then we dined on a delicious lunch)

A few of my pieces weren't completely dry so I took them home before taking apart the netting screen.

This is what I got when I peeled everything away!

There are several solid colored sheets and then, you can see the pieces on top are mixtures.

   Before going ahead with a bigger project, I made up some postcards to try out the hand and properties of this silk.  The first pic of this post is what the cards look like. 

I enjoyed this process.
