A wallet, a prompt and stockings

My friend Sharon and I have been brainstorming this wallet. She made one awhile ago and wanted to tweak it a little. So, finally - last week we found some time and made ourselves a pattern.  It's a little larger than your basic wallet, it's more like a wallet/clutch.

There is plenty of room  for everything inside.  We used accordian type pleats for the sides so the wallet opens nicely.

On the reverse side is another zippered pocket. And of course a little bling.  Sharon might use a zipper closure for her wallet, I used a magnetic clasp. When she is finished  maybe she'll let me post photos of it.

The Creative Prompt for last week was flame. I knew right away what I would doodle.  Who isn't reminded of a yule log when you think of flame during the Holidays?

But, really, what came to my mind first was - being a kid and visiting Dad's friend Pier.  On his Christmas tree he had real, burning candles. It was quite magical.

I think the stockings could be my favorite part of the Holiday. I love to fill them and we have a lot of fun going through them. The stockings I made a long time ago bit the dust last year.  Truthfully, they were too fancy anyway... sequins, tassels, brocade... Target bailed me out with these.  Cute and just perfect.

sorry for the blurry pictures today.... tis the season, I guess.

Great wallet design. I have been on the search for the perfect handbag for years. I think I am going to have to break down and design it myself.

I really like your wallet..but I had to laugh because I wondered just how much cash was in it..or if it was all ones...which is more than I ever have in my wallet. LOL I was always told that if you give a gift of a wallet or purse you should atleast put a dollar in it a blessing that the purse will never be empty....HEY...maybe that is why I don't have any money in mine! No dollar was in mine! LOL

Your wallet is so elaborate in its construction; you did an amazing job with all the features. Those quilt stitches on the closure must be so tiny!!!!!

Love the quilting on the front of the wallet and also your doodle. You had the same idea as me. When I lived in Austria, they put real candles on their trees and I love that. I also like the way you used the color in your doodle. hanks for participating.gsr
